The Project aims at the social and economic reintegration of the military servicemen through promotion of social entrepreneurship.

Project’s Objectives

Ø      Promotion of the initiative and entrepreneurship of the redundant military servicemen and providing support to their effective job placement;

Ø      Professional orientation and providing opportunities for qualification and retraining of the redundant military servicemen;

Ø      Providing knowledge and formation of practical skills to the military servicemen for more effective and less hard adaptation in the civil society and market economy environment.

Project’s Main Activity

Establishment of a Social Entrepreneurship Center in the town of Plovdiv, as a part of the nation-wide network of Resettlement Centers for the redundant military servicemen.

The Project for establishment a Social Entrepreneurship Center in the town of Plovdiv will assist the state’s efforts for creation of a system for social adaptation of the redundant military servicemen in the civil society and their economic integration.

Through establishment of such Center as a part of the national network of Resettlement Centers, we shall cover entirely the target group, achieving systematic mutual partnership and support to the positive practices in the country. Through its activities, The Social Entrepreneurship Center in Plovdiv will create actual conditions for overcoming the isolation of the redundant military servicemen from the rest of society, by means of forming practical knowledge and skills for their full value participation in the changed economic life in the country and in the civil society. The Center will assist the promotion of small and medium-sized businesses in the region and the opening of job places, it will support the local government in taking decisions on socio-economic problems. A change will occur in the minds and behavior of the marginalized group, a change, leading to a more vital activity, responsibility and initiative of the redundant military servicemen in the civil society, thus helping the stabilization of the democratic institutions of the country and maintaining of good civil-military relations.

In the end of the first year for the Project’s implementation we expect to retrain up to 1000 military servicemen and members of their families, to place at work up to 800 and up to 20 to start up own businesses.

This Project, as an important additional part of the National Resettlement Program, will lead to the following:

Ø      Systematic support to the redundant military servicemen, as a marginalized group in the civil society;

Ø      Involvement and support to the local government in resolving socio-economic problems;

Ø      Stimulating small and medium-sized businesses and further development of market economy mechanisms via involvement of the marginalized group;
