07.02.2003 Resource Center Foundation
will assist Albania in implementing a Program for Social Adaptation
of Redundant Military Servicemen Albania asked know-how of
Resource Center Foundation on the social adaptation of redundant
military servicemen and military bases conversion. This happened
within the visit of the Resettlement Programs director in Tirana,
where he was received by the Albanian President Alfred Moisiu.
According to the Program Director, Resource Center Foundation was
asked by HQ NATO and Stability Pact to support Albania. For Tirana
the problem with the redundant military servicemen and released
bases due to the reform is crucial as in Bulgaria. Until now 12 000
officers have been made redundant and till the end of the reform
another 8-10 000 officers will be released. At present the Albanian Atlantic Association develops a Social Adaptation Program. After the elaboration of the program, Bulgarian teams from Resource Center Foundation with the support of the United Nations Development Program and Stability Pact will visit Tirana to train their Albanian colleagues. |
